The two Lebanese expatriates, Ibrahim Abi Phrem and Sarkis Abi Chmooni, who were abducted on June 24, 2015 at Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa Stat, have regained their freedom.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Butswat Asinim, they were abandoned by their abductors at Okodi riverine community in Ogbia LGA, due to the massive manhunt by the police.
He said, they are healthy and they have been reunited with their families as at the time of their release.
It could be recalled that Onuegbum in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was violated when unknown gunmen stormed a nearby sand dump site, killing two policemen as well as abducting two Lebanese nationals.
The identity of the slain policemen attached to a construction firm, Pache, dredging sand in the area is yet to be ascertained.
But the Lebanese were identified as Sarki Abi Chmouli and Ibrahim Abi Pherem.
