Two young men identified as Chima Nnadi and Chukwunonso Ebubealo who were both staff of Home Best Hotel around Oguamanam Street, Owerri were yesterday found dead in a room where they slept.
Nnadi, an engineering student of Federal Polytechnic Nekede,Imo State is hails from Enyiogugu in Abo Mbaise LGA of Imo State while Chinonso hailed from Awka in Anambra state.
The duo were found inside the hotel room lifeless by other staff of the hotel about 0730hrs yesterday when the door of their room was forcefully opened after they were unable to respond to several calls.
hotelThe Chief Security Officer, CSO, of Imo Security Network, INS, in charge of Oguamanam Street Owerri area, Mr. Anayochukwu Adiele confirmed the incident to newsmen.
According to him, the two staff aged between 23 and 25 years went to bed between the hours of 10-11pm on Thursday after eating their meal together but never woke up again.
Adiele who witnessed the evacuation of the remains of the two young men, said that management of the hotel immediately contacted the Police who came and carried the corpses to the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.
He recalled that the when the management was alerted of the ugly incident, ordered the breaking of the door to the room to enable them evacuate the lifeless bodies.
As at press time, the actual cause of the death of the two men was yet to be ascertained, the CSO said that the suspects may have taken poisoned food which killed them.
Nigerian Pilot Saturday learnt that Chima in company of his friend Chinonso went to his mother to collect food eat, but ended up in collecting only soup.
A reliable source at the hotel disclosed that the duo dropped the soup in the room and went out on the street to buy garri but came back with the fufu which they ate before going to bed that fateful night.
