Samotu rtd, has said
that over twenty of his
members have died due
to non-payment of their
backlog arrears by the
Federal Government.
The Legion Chairman
made this known while
answering questions
from Nigerian Pilot
Sunday in his office.
Samotu lamented that
besides the members
that have died, there are
some on their sick beds
presently, having no
money to buy drugs.
His words, “We are
strongly appealing
to the new President,
Muhammad Buhari,
who is also our member,
to please extend his
hand of fellowship to us
by paying us the arrears
before it is too late as our
members are groaning
in pain”.
The Osun Legion boss
said his members could
not boast of three square
meals in a day due
to non-availability of
money, saying Federal
Government should
come to their aid as a
matter of urgency.
“Although, this is
an avenue for us to
congratulate our leader,
President Muhammad
Buhari for his victory,
but we are passionately
appealing to him for the
payment of our arrears”,
he added.

enjoined all his
members across the
state to remain calm, law
abiding and continue to
pray for the success of
the government of the
