FEDERAL Commissioner of the National Population Commission, NPC, in charge of Kwara State, Alhaji Abubakar Ndakene, yesterday disclosed that the commission has adopted scientific approach to collect accurate and objectives data for the next year’s National Population Census.
Ndakene, who spoke in an interview in Ilorin on Friday, said, the approach, would ensure hitch free census exercise that is devoid of manipulation.
He also assured that with the advanced system adopted by the Commission, the biometric data and other information gathered will not be tampered with by anybody.
Ndakene noted that the Commission had completed the enumeration Area of Demarcation in Oyun Local Government area of the state, pointing out that similar demarcation would be carried out in other local government areas of the state.
The NPC Federal Commissioner explained that the enumerators would be moving round the communities to number and divide houses into enumeration areas, using satellite maps.
He said the enumeration areas would be divided into smaller units for effective census coverage and added that the next year’s census would be totally different from previous census conducted in the country, saying that it would provide the national framework for future census and survey.
