Why Buhari was defeated in Ondo

A political organization, ‘Southwest Frontier for Buhari 2019 ‘ yesterday in Ibadan rose from four hours meeting and vowed that at least 90 percent of the voters in South West shall vote for President Mohammadu Buhari in February 16 presidential election in the Country.

Southwest Frontier for Buhari in 2019 which includes a group of grassroot farmers, artisans, politicians, non-politicians, traders, religious leaders, community leaders, youths, market men and women from the six states of the Southwest have noted that her members had penetrated all the Local governments, wards and units in the Region working day and night for the victory of Buhari/Osinbajo in the election.

The group also said it has no grouse whatsoever with the candidacy of the Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party in seeking the office of the Presidency, but that the opposition party and its candidate has no moral ground to condemn the Buhari led APC government who is correcting the years of misrule of the PDP.

Speaking after an executive meeting of the group which held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, the group noted that the less than four years of the APC has proved to the whole world the “misgovernance, misrule and plundering of the nations treasury, perpetrated by the PDP in their 16 years of being in power.”

The group however added that, another four years for Buhari is what is required to nail corruption and set the nation on the right path.

Southwest Coordinator of the group, Mr Ayodele Joseph while addressing the press after the meeting said the Frontier will battle the PDP in the forthcoming elections because of the confidence they have in the efforts of President Buhari.

He said the group whose membership traverse all political parties and age group are not necessarily politicians or members of any particular political party but peopled with those who believes in the integrity and good intentions of President Buhari to restore the nation to the path of honour and integrity among the comity of nations.

Ayodele appealed to the leadership of the ruling APC in the Southwest to cooperate with the group because of the makeup of its members, which he said also included non-card-carrying members of the APC.

Noting that Buhari is trying in its effort at transforming the country, the Southwest coordinator said the billions of naira recovered in the fight against corruption will go a long way to help meet the needs of the Nigerian populace.

Explaining the strategy to be adopted to achieve the massive vote to ensure Buhari’s victory, the National Public Relations Officer, Prince Omowunmi Samuel said the group is structured to have coordinators at the state, local government, wards and voting units levels.

He said, the group with at least 50 members at the units level have embarked on aggressive door-to-door campaign to enlighten the people on the various efforts of Buhari to ensure its reelection.
