Yola, Adamawa state capital, has been given a facelift for the meeting of 22 All Progressives, APC Governors today.
The exercise has seen the youths sweeping major streets that link Yola International Airport to the Government House and also the roads linking Government House with the palace of Lamido of Adamawa.
Also, major potholes across the state capital have been marked for refilling to manage the pothole-ridden roads across the state capital as sidewalks were being repainted while APC flags were erected at strategic places.
With the sanitation exercise, the state capital has witnessed a rapid facelift within the two days the sanitation exercise took place.
A reliable source close to Governor Mahammadu Umaru Jibrillah Bindow who spoke to Nigerian Pilot anonymously said all arrangements have been concluded in preparation to the visit of the Governors to the state.
He said that the Governors will be in Yola for a one day meeting where they will discuss issues especially of the economy and finding a way forward.
A resident of Yola, Mr. Yohanna Mangaro noted that from its actions since it came on board, the present government does not portray the spirit of change that the people clamoured for by voting Governor Bindow to take charge of the ship of the state.
“This is not the type of change we bargained for when we voted governor Bindow. From the look of things, the goodwill we extended to the incumbent administration is being frittered away on the altars of political expediency which has been the bane of our development as a state in the past.
“We have a governor some people have started calling ‘Digital,’ meaning not serious in his actions,” he said.
