Three persons have lost their lives in fighting which occurred during celebration of All Progressives Congress, APC victory at Angwan Dawa in Lere local government area of Kaduna State.
Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the local government, Ibrahim Abdulkarim confirmed the incidence to journalists in Kaduna yesterday.
He further said more than five persons were currently receiving treatment at Saminaka General Hospital.
According to a resident, Abubakar Sani, trouble started when some supporters of the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, took to the streets to jubilate over election result announcement in which the party has clicked the two seats in Kaduna State House of Assembly.
It was further gathered that the jubilant youths went to Angwan Dawa which is described as PDP stronghold, beating drums, which did not go down well with youths from this areas as they launched attack on the group leading to a free for all fight and death of one of the youths.
The youths were said to have retreated and came back re-enforced to launch attack on the community and this was said to have led to the death of two other people and properties set ablaze.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Command, DSP Zubairu Abubakar confirmed that the incidence was a fracas and that two people were said to have been injured and receiving treatment in the hospital.
DSP Abubakar however said security agents comprising of the army, civil defence and the police have restored law and order in the area and some suspects were already in police net while investigation was still on-going.
