Six suspects have been arrested in connection with yesterday’s killing of a police officer, Inspector Nura Hashimu, in a hotel in Sokoto. The late Inspector Hashimju, son to a former Commissioner of Police, CP Hashimu Argungu, was reportedly killed, following a fight with the hotel manager.
A close source told Nigerian Pilot that the deceased was serving under Abia State Police Command when he reportedly engaged in fighting with the manager of the hotel when his staff took law into their hands and manhandled him.
Meanwhile, the PPRO of the Sokoto Police Command, Almostapha Sani confirmed the death to our Correspondent in Sokoto, saying already six persons have been arrested so far in connection with the crime.
As at the time of filling this report, there was serious panic around the ancient seat of the Caliphate.
According to the police image maker, “We are investigating the cause of the killing of Inspector Nura Hashim and soon after, we are going to take measures against a repeat of such heinous crime.”
While appealing for calm in the area, he assured that the police would ensure justice and fairness in the investigation to unravel the cause of the death of Inspector Nura Hashim.
