After observing weeks of break, Nigerian Beach Volleyball team will today converge in Lagos to formally resume training ahead of 2015 All Africa Games scheduled to take place in September.
Disclosing this exclusively to Nigerian Pilot sports in Abuja at the weekend, Chairman Nigeria Beach Volleyball, Musa Nimrod maintained that the Nation’s Volleyball players are poised for greater exploits at the AAG.
Nimrod who is also a board member of Nigerian Volleyball federation added “the National Sports Commission has given the go ahead for our players to report in Lagos on Monday. We appreciate their effort and we look forward to doing the country proud.
“This time around, we are targeting gold. I’m satisfied with the level of preparation so far. In the past month, they have been in camp and we allowed them to go home and rest before coming back for final phase of preparation.
“So far, the sports commission has been supportive to the Volleyball federation and we are ready to reciprocate their gesture.”
Aside Volleyball, three other Nigerian team games including football, basketball and handball, Male and female alike booked their tickets to feature in Congo, venue of this year’s continental biggest sports contest.
