One out of the three Reverend fathers, Reverend Iliya Anto abducted by unknown gunmen in Kaduna last week has been reportedly found dead while two others, Reverend Dr. Emmanuel Dziggau and Reverend Yakubu Dzarma, regained their freedom.
It was reported that Reverend Anto who until his death was the Vice President of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, known as HEKAN, died in the abductors captive.
The General Secretary of the HEKAN, Reverend Jibrailu Wobiya who confirmed this to journalist in Kaduna yesterday said the HEKAN President, Reverend Emmanuel Dziggau and Retired Reverend Yakubu Dzarma were freed by their Abductors yesterday evening and are now receiving treatment in an undisclosed Hospital in Kaduna.
It would be recalled that the three HEKAN pastors were kidnapped by unknown gunmen at the Proposed HEKAN Theological Seminary Permanent Site along Kaduna – Abuja Road on Monday 21st March 2016.
It would also be recalled that the suspected kidnappers demanded N100 million ransom before they will release the Reverends.
However, it was not clear as to whether a ransom was paid to secure the release of the reverend fathers or not.
