Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has said that a special security strike force comprising the police, army and SSS would be launched in the state next week to check insecurity, especially kidnapping.
The governor disclosed this during a meeting with critical sector groups at Government House, Umuahia.
He said the state was to sponsor the first batch of youths to Porto Novo to study integrated agriculture before the end of this year, adding that his administration intended to meaningfully engage about 20,000 youths from the state.
According to him, his government has corporate plan for youths, stressing that the paradigm would be different from the past practice where vehicles and stipends were given out as empowerment to the youths.
He said that what youths desired was sustainable empowerment starting with education, and promised to provide the right environment for businessmen, especially manufacturers, to do their business.
Ikpeazu said that government would in the next three months commission the revenue house, a one stop shop for those willing to do business in the state, adding that the guideline for all approved taxes payable in the state would soon be ready.
He saluted Aba residents for their co-operation with his government, and disclosed that the Ariaria International Market would be upgraded to restore its master plan.
