Organisers of the popular gathering of stars in the nation’s capital, Step Out Night, have announced the second season of the show coming up on October 29 at Cosmic Lounge former Avatar, Abuja.
As usual the show will feature performances from some of Nigeria’s A-List artists such as 2tight, Da, fly girls, Tony Wenom.
According to the organiser, Papie T, the show will be going beyond Abuja to other prominent cities.
He explained that the desire was borne out of increasing demands from artistes in Abuja to have a platform where they can showcase their talent.
“This show was instituted to satisfy the increasing demand for entertainment platforms by talented youths in the Federal Capital Territory and for a positive move to engage them in extracurricular activities. As a result, I decided to come up with the idea to host Abuja artistes on a common platform called, ‘Abuja Step Out Night.”
According to the artiste, musical festivals have the power to not only entertain, but inspire and educate, adding that Abuja has remarkable talents that need to be harnessed.
“The show will be a stepping block for so many upcoming artistes. This event will create an enabling environment for every creative youth within Abuja and the outskirts of the city to showcase their musical talents. Abuja musicians must unite and be open to criticisms. This monthly musical festival will also provide an enabling opportunity for the artiste as an individual and as a brand. It will also impact on a mass gathering of youths.”
In his remarks, the Governor, Performing Musicians Employee Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Mr. Collins Adeyemi, explained that talent can take an artiste to great heights if they believe in themselves and honour their profession.
He stated that music is a noble profession and musicians must respect themselves. “Music is a noble profession not a gutter job. If you as a musician do not have the confidence within, you will continue to line-up for others.”
