Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa state, have taken Senator Aishatu Binani (Adamawa Central), to the cleaners, for distributing fertilizer as part of her constituency project.

Last week, the mass media, was awash with reports that the female senator had distributed 12,600 bags of fertilizer to APC officials across the state.

It was further reported that Senator Binani, had also donated 88 cows to the party officials for this year’s eid el kabir celebration.

However, some party leaders have contested the claim, saying, the fertilizer distributed caries federal government emblem; as such, should not be seen as part of her constituency project.

For that, Ibrahim Mana, a youth leader from Hong, has challenged the senator to show evidence that she purchased the farm input as claimed.

He said, “from what we know, the fertilizer was from the Sustainable Development Goals office, which is under the presidency; even at that, how can we take fertilizer as constituency project.

“These farm inputs may have been directed from the presidency for the benefit of our farmers, so no one should claim to have purchased them with their own money”, he said.

Another party stalwart, Mohammed Bappare, corroborated that the fertilizer in question were merely channelled through the senator from the SDGs office.

He probed, “how could she have purchased fertilizer embossed with federal government’s emblem”?

Efforts to reach Senator Binani on the allegation were unsuccessful, as at the time of press.

This is because, repeated calls and text messages to the phone number of her aide, Usman Mauludu were either rejected or not answered.
