Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Adamawa State has lauded President Muhammadu Buhari over his renewed war against corruption.
The state chairman of the party, Chief Joel Hammajoda Madaki made the commendation on Monday in Yola while speaking to newsmen on the outcome of the party state and local government executives meeting.
Madaki said the issue of corruption was among what the meeting discussed and that its members were happy with the fight and wanted it to be executed without discrimination.
Commenting on the APC-led government in the state, Madaki said that the PDP would provide it with credible opposition, adding that PDP would criticise it where necessary and also praise it where necessary.
“We will support the state government where it is working for the progress of the state. We will oppose it vehemently where it is working against the interest of the people.
“We are going to come out with our party’s position on the state APC-led administration when it clocks 100 days in office,” Madaki said.
He lamented the defection of some of their members to APC, adding that some of them were trying to return but the PDP would not just accept anybody back.
The chairman also said that Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, its gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections, had contacted the party executives on his ambition to vie for the position of the national chairman of the party.
He said the PDP in Adamawa is strong on ground and making its effort to participate in any election that would be organised by the state any day, any time.
He called on the members to always unite and be one another’s keeper, adding that PDP had been the biggest party in Africa and it would always remain unshaken.
