Hope rises for Nigeria current minister of Agriculture, Dr Akinwumi Adesina candidature for the position of African Development Bank, AFDB, president.
Adesina’s international profile as a top flight international management expert and his achievement as Agriculture Minister in the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration put him in an enviable stead to clinch the post.
While the Nigerian government has fully backed him, other African countries have also stepped up the ante to lobby fellow nations in the continent to ensure he gets the plump job.
South Africa, Ghana is among the countries that have also thrown their weight behind the Osun born international administrator.
President-elect Buhari who also backs the candidacy of Adesina had last month conveyed his support to the President of Ghana, John Mahama when the two leaders met in Abuja.
