Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mines and Agriculture, ABUCCIMA, has awarded telecommunication services provider, Airtel Nigeria, with the ‘Most Innovative Business Idea’ Award for its Recharge & Hit-a-Million Promo.
According to reports the award was presented to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Segun Ogunsanya who was represented by the Regional Operations Director, North, Mr. Wole Abu, at a well-attended ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotels Abuja Chamber recently.
The event themed ‘Promoting the Spirit of Excellence’ had in attendance, several dignitaries including Hon. Minister for Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Mohammed Musa Bello, who was the special guest of honour, former Vice President of the World Bank, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili who presented the keynote address, other Captains of industry, top government functionaries, and members of the diplomatic corp.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Ogunsanya dedicated the latest addition to the company’s shelf laurels to the loyal customers on the Telco’s network, noting that their patronage, loyalty and commitment continues to spur the company towards rolling out value adding innovative offerings.
He said that the company will continue to create robust products and services that meet the needs of customers and keep them close and connected to their loved ones, adding that Airtel brand has always been known for value, commitment to the needs of customers and passion for quality service delivery.
Mr. Ogunsanya noted that the award serves a drive for Airtel to continue in the stride towards rewarding our customer’s loyalty and seek avenues to consistently excite them with our array of innovative telecommunications solutions.
The promo produced 60 millionaires while many other customers won cash prizes ranging from N1m, N100,000 and N5,000 as well as free airtime and SMS.
According to President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Awards, Mr. Tony Ejinkonye, the modality for selecting the ‘Most Innovative Business Idea’ was based on the number of new products and services rolled out by the organization.
Other categories of awards presented at the event included: Investor of the Year, Corporate Social Responsible Organisation of the Year, Outstanding Company (Commerce) of the Year and the Outstanding Company (Industry) of the Year.
