The Senate Minority Leader,
Chief Godswill Akpabio
has commended President
Muhammadu Buhari for not
interfering and respecting the
independence of the judiciary.
Akpabio gave the
commendation at Ikot Ekpene
Saturday at a reception
organized by the people of Ikot
Ekpene senatorial district to for
him, his wife, Governor Udom
Emmanuel and wife and deputy
governor Mr. Moses Ekpo.
He described as justice done
to Akwa Ibom people in the
last week’s Supreme Court
ruling upholding the election of
Emmanuel but expressed worry
over utterances made by some
leaders of the All Progressives
Congress, APC before the ruling.
“While we were looking for
justice, the opposition were
looking for re-run, what the
Supreme Court has done is
giving us justice, but not
judgment. You can go and
procure judgment, but not
justice; the justice in Akwa Ibom
is that Eket Senatorial District
has produced the governor in
the person of Udom Emmanuel.
