The police have arrested a randy police corporal attached to Okuta Elerinla Division Akure, who was accused of raping young girls in Akure.
The middle-aged policeman was alleged of disguising as a bachelor after which he would lure his victims into his rented apartment where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of them.
The suspect, it was reliably gathered has been in the habit of engaging in sexual escapades with ladies who fell victim of his sexual harassment for some period.
Police sources disclosed that the suspect has been linked to several rape offences.
It was further gathered that various reports on his sexual intimidation and numerous atrocities at his police division, (B) in Akure consequently led to the authorities of the state command to transfer him to where he is currently serving before nemesis caught up with him last week.
A dependable source told our correspondent that on March 13, 2015 he was caught with a lady whom he forcefully had carnal knowledge of after threatening to deal with her if she refused to respond to his sexual request.
As if that was not enough, the same month, March 27, 2015, he was alleged to have raped a corps member whom he met at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC office in Akure.
He was said to have deceived the lady by promising her that he would assist her to become one of the Ad hoc staff in the just concluded elections in the state.
Reports have it that the suspect took the lady to his apartment where he had carnal knowledge of her.
It was also reliably gathered that the lady when she realized that he was a rapist raised alarmed reporting the alleged rape to the police authorities.
However, the Divisional Police Officer at Okuta Elerinla on receiving the complaint of the victim directed that the suspect (policeman) should be arrested and detained for investigation.
Subsequently, he was later transferred to the Department of Criminal Investigation, DCI, state police headquarters along Igbatoro Road, Akure where he is presently cooling his heels.
Nigerian Pilot Saturday learnt that the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of DCI in Akure having investigated the alleged offence of rape leveled against the corporal recommended that he should be tried in orderly room.
It was also revealed that the panel set up to try his case recommended him for instant dismissal.
His fate is now lying with the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Isaac Eke, who is yet to approve the panel’s recommendation.
