Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has inaugurated multi-million naira projects initiated by his administration since assumption of office in the past four years.
Among the projects inaugurated by the governor include Nasarawa Geographical Information System, NAGIS, state medical store, 6 kilometre road network in Lafia, the state capital beginning from Musa Ilu links – Bukan Sidi and New market junction – Agwan Jaba – Kofa Fada roads respectively.
Commissioning projects on Thursday, Al-Makura explained that the measure was aimed at uplifting the living standard of the citizenry, stressing that the NAGIS will enable the government gets accurate geographical information.
According to him, the geographical system commissioned has three components comprising of digital aerial mapping, geographical information service and a data-base where land map scales and photographs state terrain are stored.
He therefore described the NAGIS project as one of the best in the country; hence, urging land investors to assess themselves to the facility either in Mararaba or Lafia for easy access to land information.
He urged the people of the state to patronise the agency and state Ministry of land and survey before embarking on any development as government will not hesitate to deal with violators of such rules and regulations.
The governor further assured people that in two weeks of his second tenure, similar projects would be established in Akwanga, Doma, Nasarawa and Keffi local government area centres in that order.
