GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has directed illegal occupants of Mararaba High court premises in Karu Local Government Area of the state to vacate the area with immediate effect or face the wrath of the law. The governor, who gave the order while on inspection tour of the construction of the three new High court complexes within the premises of the court, noted that his administration will not condone such attitude which he said was capable of hindering the smooth running of official activities at the High Court. Al-Makura who decried the continuous abuse of court premises by petty traders, hawkers and erection of illegal structures maintained that court premises and its environs must be protected from such illegality to avoid anything that would cause distraction to the cause of justice. He urged those erecting illegal structures and hawkers within the premises of the court to park out with immediate effect to allow the Court have more space to discharge its duties. The governor also urged contractors handling the construction of the three new High court Complexes to ensure speedy completion before the end of the first quarter of 2017. According to him the building of the three more High Court complexes was aimed at decongesting the High Courts, thereby making justice more accessible to the people. He pointed out that his administration would always ensure sanity and respect for other arms of government in the state while urging every citizens of the state to protect government property for the overall development of the state and country.
