Nasarawa State governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has threatened to revoke three blocks of 42-room hostel apartments at the state university, Keffi, if the contractor, Kilbyte Service Limited handling the job failed to deliver within the specified time.
The governor, who issued the threat yesterday when he paid an unscheduled working visit to the project site, expressed dismay with the slow pace of work and warned the contractor to hasten up or risk revocation.
Al-Makura noted that the contractors had no reason not to complete the project within the time frame, as the state government did not owe it.
He therefore gave the contractors three months to complete the job and hand over the project to the school authorities.
“I am not happy with the level of work because this job is priority to the government; so I will come back next week to see the level of work.
“The contractor has no reason not to complete the job because he has no outstanding payment.”
Responding, the project officer of the company, Aliyu Sani who attributed the delay in completion of foundation work, assured the governor that the project would be ready in two weeks time.
