All is set for the much touted Abuja’s City Centre Carnival, to be hosted in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
While briefing the media in Abuja, organiser of the event, Mr. Shuki Godwin, said the programme was organised to deal with the issues that the youths of Abuja were facing.
“We organised this programme because we resolved that there was a lot of issues that the youths were facing in the city centre and it wasn’t really addressed and being in the entertainment industry and different humanitarian acts that we have been engaged in we decided to come together and check all these things that are affecting the youths in Abuja,” he said.
He added: “Basically, one of the projects we slated to do was the city centre 2015 which is the city centre carnival basically the theme of this carnival is ‘Promoting Security Awareness And Youth Empowerment’”
The programme is slated to hold from December 14 to 20, and according to organisers, promises to be a lot of fun.
The event will also sport a food fair. “It would not be like the normal food fair where you run around and see varieties; it’s going to be specific because there is going to be agencies who would partner with us in doing this particular thing but taste of Africa is organising this.
“There is a particular NGO we are working with a climate change NGO their goal is to plant a tree in every society.”
Seyi Shay, Phyno, Patoranking, and Cynthia Morgan are some of the artistes billed to perform at the event.
Speaking on the taste of Africa project Ms. Anna Minke said that this food fair festival promises to be different as it would be focusing on the indigenous food of Nigeria and would a good opportunity for people to start up their businesses.
