Anambra state government has said that there are plans to employ 1, 000 People Living With Disability, PLWD, who are graduates in the state.
The wife of the state Governor, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano made the disclosure yesterday in Awka at a ceremony to mark this year’s World Disabled Day.
Mrs. Obiano urged them to submit their credentials to the Ministry of Women’s Affairs or the office of the wife of the governor for onward process.
The wife of the governor, who distributed 200 prosthetic limbs to PLWD at the occasion through her pet project, CAFÉ, said that the gesture was aimed at adding life to God’s creation.
In an address of welcome, Mr. Victoria Chikwelu, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, commended Mrs. Obiano for the kind gesture.
Earlier, the Director of PLWD in the ministry, Mr. Azuka Offormata lauded the government for assisting the PLWD in the state with free interest loan to help boost their businesses.

Contributing, Mr. Timothy Nduka, the chairman of the occasion and former Director in the Ministry of Justice, appealed to government at all level to subsidise the prices of their computers.
