Another supporter of president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, from Adamawa State, Lawan Umar yesterday arrived Bauchi State on bicycle on his way to witness the inauguration of the president-elect on May 29 in Abuja.
Speaking to newsmen in Bauchi yesterday, Umar reminded youths on the need to shun violence while channeling their energy towards promoting the country’s democratic process, describing the political culture in the country as maturing , adding that the youths were critical to the socio-economic emancipation of the country.
Umar, who began his journey last Sunday, expressed the hope to reach his destination in the next few days, saying his venture was aimed at encouraging other Nigerians to work towards ensuring the sustenance of the country’s democracy for the much anticipated change in the polity to be realised.
Umar commended the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheik Tahir Usman Bauchi who provided accommodation for him on his arrival to the state capital and thanked other Nigerians who provided support to him on his way to Abuja.
