…Pinnick presidency may be shaken

Another crisis is brewing at the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, following the arrival of a new minister of Youth and Sports Development, barrister Solomon Dalung.
An oneline news portal, gongnews.net has revealed that there is grand scheme to ease out the President, Amaju Pinnick and smuggle in immediate past President, Aminu Maigari.
Impeccable sources within the Glass House told www.gongnews.net that the plan to impeach Pinnick at the next NFF Annual General Meeting (AGM) had been concluded. His sins have been compiled.
Two factors are alleged to have precipitated the new agitations. The fact that the new minister may not understand the underground factors in the divided football house and two, the secretariat of the FA and majority of the Board is strictly within the grasps of the pro-Maigari advocates.
League Board elections
Of the league seats on the board, only the Nigeria Premier league will not be standing for election. Those whose tenure are ending and are seeking fresh mandates are finding it very hard to get the support of their constituency whereas, the ones whose elections are still fresh are making sure that the other two seeking re-election doesn’t get to the board.
Mr Emeka Inyamah and Alhaji Kawu whose seats are occupied illegally by virtue of the laws of the game, have a big fight on their hands. Their seats are being challenged heavily.
“An interested party said on anonymity: “We can’t have two people from a state sitting on the same board. It’s a negation of the rules. The time of not taking football matters to court are not yet over, but we can say too that the times of threatening football stakeholders with jabulani letters from FIFA is over. FIFA has a lot to contend with now with their corruption issues.
For instance, in the Women League, the pro-Maigari people are sponsoring a total stranger, Aisha Falode as chairman while they want to ease out Dilichukwu Onyedinma. Whether the electors will vote Aisha is another story because the last time out she was rejected because it’s only when elections come they see her and after elections, she will disappear,” said our source.
Maigari returns
If and when Amaju Pinnick is impeached, Shehu Dikko who is the LMC Chairman may likely be be forced out “because he was not elected.” The euphemism for this is that he is an acolyte of Amaju Pinnick and the LMC has to be reorganised to ease him out.
When the Congress, being the most powerful decision making body had taken these drastic actions, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, the first Vice President will become Acting President while a bye-election will be ordered within the people who were eligible from the last NFF Warri election, thus, Maigari will be given the window to stroll in and be elected the President.
When contacted, a pro-Giwa supporter who demanded anonymity for now said, “all these are not possible.
We shall be waiting for the implementation before we react. Two, how will they do all these? If they do, we will reactivate our mandate which is still alive and can be ignited any moment from now.”
Efforts to reach Mr Amaju Pinnick for his reaction on the brewing trouble did not materialise. Alhaji Aminu Maigari will not make comments on the matter.
