Factional executive members of the Kogi State All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the party chairman, Haddi Ametuo and Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial District, of playing to the gallery over the allegation of anti-party activities recently levied against Governor Yahaya Bello.
Speaking to the journalists in Lokoja on Friday at the party secretariat, the state Deputy Women leader, Debora Oyeiza, who led the seven-man factional group, said it beats their imagination that the stakeholders appointed the likes of Senator Melaye that has issue of political immorality to head a probe panel to investigate Governor Bello over the allegation of anti-party activities.
Shedding more light, she said that Senator Melaye has disappointed highly respected leaders like Senator Ahmed Tinubu, a national leader of the party and Late Prince Abubakar Audu, the former governor of the state and host of others, adding that doing same to governor Bello is not a surprise to them.
She further explained that the governor apart from appointing two members each from the 21 councils of the state into his inauguration committee on January 27, with Senator Melaye as the chairman of the committee, he also allowed Senator Melaye to nominate many of the political appointees in governor Bello’s administration.
While Oyeiza questioned Melaye’s political behaviour, she noted that the state chairman of the party, Haddi Anetuo, was day dreaming, stressing, “if he did not amend his ways, he will be swallowed soonest”.
In attendance were, party chairmen from Idah, Ajaokuta, Kabba Bunu, Yagba West, state women leader, Rabi Alhassan, secretary (potential) John Ayorinde and state Deputy Women leader, Debora Oyeiza, the spokesperson of the group
