The APC has called for the cancellation of the guber and House of Assembly polls in Akwa Ibom.

The party’s guber candidate in the state Mr Umana Umana told newsmen in his Ndiya ward that agents of the PDP hijacked materials from INEC staff making it impossible for voters to participate in the election.

Umana explained that reports from across the state by the party’s agents also indicated widespread defranchise of voters by attempts by the P D P thugs to hijack materials.

He further stated that security personnel intercepted election materials including result sheets in the House of a PDP chieftain in Nsit Ubium local council and were handed back to INEC officials but that the people refused to vote since the ballot papers were incomplete,

“In the light of this we are therefore calling for the cancelation of the polls in Akwa Ibom since widespread hijack of materials in all the local governments of the state did not allow voters to exercise their franchise.”

He further stated that he has already made a formal report to INEC on the matter.
