All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain in Adamawa State, Alhaji Uba Danarewa has chided Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow over the deteriorating political relationship with his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Abba Jimeta.
Dan Arewa admonished the governor not to sack the embattled Chief of Staff, as doing so will amount to serious injustice, considering the sacrifices he made towards the realization of Bindow’s ambition.
Dan Arewa ventilated his salvo via a popular Hausa political programme aired by Radio Gotel, noting that some of the politicians who do not want the progress of the administration for their selfish ends were behind the strident move to get the chief of staff sacked from office.
The Governor who was embarrassed by the statement which portrays his government as deep in corruption wielded the big stick by preventing the chief of staff, Abdulrahman Abba who was hitherto seen as the most powerful figure in the administration from making policy statements on behalf of the government.
The development has caused anxiety within government circles as many see it as a prelude to sacking the Chief of Staff who is said to have powerful enemies within the system.
Dan Arewa noted that sacking the chief of staff will also affect the fortunes of many loyal party men who played very significant roles in ushering Bindow into the government house, adding that the chief of staff knew the contributions made by individual persons towards the victory of the party, explaining that bringing a new person will destabilize the arrangement.
He pleaded with the governor not to heed the call of such politicians who are in the habit of using ethnic or religious cards to achieve their selfish political motives as they will cause serious disaffection in the state.
