All Progressives Congress, APC,
in Bauchi State has debunked
allegations that the Governorelect,
Barrister Mohammed
Abdullahi Abubakar has collected
the sum of 565 million Naira from
the state government.
State Publicity Secretary of the
APC, Auwal Jallah stated this
yesterday while speaking with
newsmen in Bauchi, adding that ”
there was no iota of truth in all the
allegations published by an online
media against the Governor-elect
and the members of the transition
committee. No one collected such
a huge amount of money from the
state government.”
Auwal described the story as
false allegations meant to tarnish
the image of the Governor-elect
and advised the medium to retract
the story and to always cross check
facts before going to the press in
order to be fair to all as it is in the
conduct of developed journalism.
He said “to put the record
straight as it is in the tradition,
every transition committee
receives little token from the
outgoing administration, and that
was the only money received from
the Bauchi State government , and
it didn’t reach even one tenth of
the amount quoted. The money
that was given to the transition
committee and they used it to
buy furniture’s and to settle
the committee allowances , the
Governor-elect did not interfere
in the work of the committee ,
and he did not collect a kobo from
the committee, in fact he was not
aware of it.”
On the current strike embarked
on by Bauchi workers, APC
spokesman appealed to the
workers to return to their duty
post in the best interest of the state,
