PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, national chairmanship aspirant, Raymond Dokpesi has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, lacks experience to rule Nigeria, urging his party (the PDP) to rebrand and puts its house in order to takeover power in 2019. The media mogul expressed optimism that dislodging APC would be easier as it is evident in its performance, which is clear lacked the requisite experience and capacity to rule. Dokpesi made the declaration while soliciting for votes from PDP leaders in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State. “APC has demonstrated clearly it cannot rule Nigeria. The party lacks the experience, unlike PDP who ruled the country for many years”. Dokpesi said APC merely “stumbled” on power and has shown through its actions and inactions that it was clearly not prepared for the task of leadership. He said all that PDP needs to do is to quickly re-invent itself and send APC packing in 2019. Dokpesi, apparently referring to Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction of the party scheming to stop the convention, maintained that no one could stop the upcoming Port Harcourt National Convention of the party scheduled for August 17. Sheriff’s faction had gone to the Federal high in Abuja seeking for an injunction to stop the National Convention. He said, though Sheriff and his cohorts would try, but their efforts would be in futility as wishes of the majority of the party members would certainly prevail. He said, “I don’t think there is any crisis in PDP and I don’t know of any faction in the party. A group of persons think they can manipulate the system. In the past, there was a lot of impunity, a lot of disrespect for party rules and regulations and some people in the party are still living in that era and think they will disturb and distort the position of the party, but the party is united. 99.9% of the party faithful and party members are solidly behind the organisation of the convention.
