All Progressive Congress, APC, Niger state has described the death of Mr. Gilbert Stephen, Niger state correspondent of Channels Television as painful while condoling with the family, the station and the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, over the incident.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary, Jonathan Vatsa said the news of the death came to the party with shock and wondered why death will lay its cold hand on Mr. Gilbert whose service is needed most at the time that change is beckoning to the state.
“We receive the news of his death with shock and his death is a sad one because it was very untimely, he was a very hard working Journalist who has contributed a lot to the development of Niger state in particular and the society in general”
The Party therefore said that they are pained by his death and that the late Gilbert will continue to be missed for his gentility and commitment to work as a thorough bred Journalist.
Vatsa said that the APC prayed that the soul of Gilbert rest in perfect peace and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the huge lost.
The party said for the family left behind, it was time to show them more love adding that though death is always painful and bitter, it should always serve as reminder for all the ephemeral nature of life as a passing phase.
