The main opposition party in Delta state, All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday protested over alleged falsification of result in some local government areas even as it called for total cancellation of the results.
The APC gubernatorial candidate of the party, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor led a group of party supporters to INEC headquarters in Asaba carrying placards with various inscriptions such as; “PDP leave our votes”, “Leave our result alone”, “PDP buried for life”, “APC on top no more wuruwuru”, “No to PDP rigging we want change”, amongst others.
Olorogun O’tega Emerhor who spoke to journalists in Asaba at the main gate of state INEC alleged that the results from the polling units in some areas were modified and reproduced as number of accredited voters from the presidential election was higher than those of the National Assembly.
He noted that the PDP antics are to use Delta polls figure to make up and balance its figure at the presidential polls.
According to him, “if INEC ignores this call, we will move to Abuja to register our protest, for 72 hours Delta state has not produced presidential results. What is PDP cooking that is not done in Delta? That is wrong”.
Responding, the INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, represented by the Administrative Secretary, Barr. Thomas Ongele promised to pass the message to his boss, assuring them that they would look into the agitations.
