All Progressives Congress, APC, spokesman in Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Ekiti State, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, has expressed its displeasure over the ruling of the election petition tribunal in Ekiti that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, could not produce the print-out of the card reader used for the senatorial election in Ekiti central.
Speaking to newsmen after the tribunal in Ado Ekiti, Oguntayo said “though the ruling will not have any serious effect on the deluge of evidence we have to challenge the victory of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, we still believe that if INEC is not hiding anything, it should not have objected to our application for the print out”.
He explained that the “print-out was produced by INEC in Rivers and Benue State where sterling revelations emerged”.
Also speaking on the matter, the plaintiff’s lawyer, Mr Femi George, disclosed that the ruling would not affect the overall judgment.
He stated that “the print-out is just infinitesimal on the avalanche of evidence available to prove the irregularities that characterized the senatorial election in Ekiti Central in the last National Assembly election.
Further hearing on the matter was fixed for Saturday 26 of this month.
