All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ede North Local Government Area of Osun State, has threatened to sanction members of the party who were alleged have been involved in anti-party activities during the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The party said this in a letter addressed to the state level jointly signed by the Chairman, State organising secretary, Local Party Secretary, Executive secretary and the party leader, Lateef Oyelowo, Olayiwola Sikiru, Adisa Peter, Tiamiyu Bello, and Otunba Sule Alao in which copy was made available to Journalists in Osogbo the state capital.
The party alleged that three leaders of the party led hundreds of party members to another party during the last elections, noting thatr they even ignored the intervention of some elders against dumping the party. The release recalled that a team led by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, had appealed to the aggrieved members but all to no avail.
“Furthermore, another team led by Dr Peter Babalola as well as Senator Isiaka Adeleke also met the aggrieved members but jettisoned the appeals and several promises made to address their complaints, and abandoned the party. They maintained their position and went against their wishes of the party’s hierarchies.”
The release urged the leadership of the party at the state level to take appropriate action against the erring members adding such punitive measure will serve as deterrent to others and help to instil discipline in the party.
