ALL Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC of weeping religious sentiments rather than delivering on its election promises to the people of Nasarawa state.
It debunked insinuations making the rounds that the party harbours religious agenda against Muslims in the state.
Running mate to Mr. Labaran Maku, the gubernatorial candidate of APGA in the just concluded 2015 general elections, Alhaji Ibrahim Abu, made the assertion yesterday at a press conference in Lafia, the state capital.
He maintained that those insinunuating that APGA is an anti-Islam party do not mean well for the people of the state, adding that, the party has, and will continue to present equal opportunity to all, irrespective of their religious linens.
He explained that the party chairman in state Musa Saidu is a Fulani/Hausa Muslim, the Youth leader of the party, Abu Company is a Muslim, majority of their zonal chairmen are Muslims, himself a Muslim and wondered why such insinuations were being peddled by the APC and its agents.
In a remark at the event, state chairman of the party Musa Saidu said for the fact that APGA started in the east does not make it a christian party, adding that,
the defunct Nigeria Peoples Party, NPP had similar origin but ruled in Plateau state.
