Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has called on the governorship candidates of Labour Party, Chief Great Ogboru and the All Progressives Congress, Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor to apologise to the people of Delta State for their distraction for taking him to court even when they knew that he won the governorship election.
Speaking at thanksgiving service to celebrate the apex court judgment that affirmed his victory on Tuesday evening, Senator Okowa said “when they moved the case to Abuja, we prayed but we got victory. When we got to Supreme Court we were a bit at rest. Especially, when the almighty judgment of that of Rivers state, I thought my opponents will surrender but they did not.”
Continuing; “it time to forgive, I have forgiven them but O’tega and Ogboru should apologise to all Deltans because they knew they lost. They never campaigned rather they were busy raising ethnic sentiments. It is time to begin anew; we must be advocates of development. We must pay tax. This state is destined for greatness. We must continue to know God. We must accept him as our help. We will continue to show love. It’s the love of God that has seen us through. Delta is designed for greatness. We must play our role. We will stay focused. The road may be rough now but the future is great.
