President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday approved the appointment of Alhaji Kashim Yunusa Akor as the new Director General/Chief Executive of the National Productivity Centre, NPC.
He is to replace Dr. Paul Bdliya who has spent eight years piloting the affairs of the centre.
A letter released in Abuja yesterday by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, backdated the appointment to 19th May, 2015.
The letter reads, “I am pleased to convey the approval of His Excellency, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Ref. No. PRES/94/ML/103 dated 18th May, 2015 of your appointment as the new Director General of the National Productivity Centre, with effect from 19th May, 2015, for a first tenure of four years.”
However, the appointment is consequent upon the completion of the second and final tenure of the erstwhile Director General. Dr. Paul. M. Bdliya.
Before his elevation, Alhaji Akor who holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and a Certificate in Productivity Management from Spring Institute, Singapore among other professional certificates was a Director in the Centre with over twenty years experience as a Productivity Practitioner. He is married with children.
