Army in Bauchi state have succeeded in killing two suspected Kidnappers and arresting two others in Dutsen Zaki village in Ningi local government area of Bauchi. According to the Assistant Director army public relations of the 33 artilery brigade shadawanka, Major Joseph Afolasade told Journalists yesterday that the suspects were arrested on Saturday. He explained that the two suspects were captured alive osaturday and recovered various weapons, saying the operation was carried out by their officers attached to the sector located in Burra town of Ningi local government. He explained that the development followed the series of clearing operations embarked upn by the soldiers to flush out all remnants of criminals that disturb villages in the area especially Kanawa, Rugan Abdulsalami, Diwa and Dutsen Zaki hamlets. According to the army spokesman, the soldiers on patrol had succeeded in killing the hoodlums at the Dutsen Zaki forest and arrested the wounded ones after a fierce gun battle between the two teams which lasted for over one and half hour adding that there was however no any casualties on the side of his officers. “ At the end, our gallant troops over powered the bandits and succeeded in killing two of the kidnappers and recovered five AK 47 riffles from them. Two of the bandits were also captured alive by our own brave troops. We also recovered items
that include 23 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunitions, four Bajaj motorcycles, food stuffs and clothings’’. He said. He stated further that such operations were ongoing accross the state and the 33 artilery brigade’s areas of operation which include Yankari forest in Alkaleri, Lame forest in Toro, and Buzun forest in Ganjuwa local government areas respectively. He called on general public to always support security agencies especially in providing useful information that can lead to the arrest of hoodlums.
