A traditional leader, Galadima of Saluwe in Wase local government area of Plateau State was yesterday found dead after his assailants were said to have shot and amputated his limbs.
The deceased, 62 years old Isiaka Adamu who is also a security guard working with the Wase local government secretariat was suspected to have been macheted by thugs according to Plateau State Youth Council, PSYC, Chairman for Wase, Yusuf Mohammed Wase.
Wase said the deceased had left for his farm early in the morning close to the office of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC when he met his death and was later found by neighbouring farmers.
He said “last Sunday over 300 cattle were stolen around the same axis by some youths. And today the Galadima has been killed. We are becoming impatient with the State government and the STF. These people walk for almost six kilometers just to come and attack us yet we are told not to carry arms to defend ourselves.”
The incident according to the PSYC chairman in Wase has been reported to the STF in Wase adding that “right now we are on our way to having a meeting with the Captain in charge of Ford Operation Base, FOB, Wase, He added.
