Fatima Atiku Abubakar, daughter of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has been nominated as Commissioner by the Adamawa State Governor, Bindow Jibirilla.
Two of Atiku’s associates, aides and associates of impeached Governor Murtala Nyako, are also among 22 commissioner-nominees Governor Jibirilla sent to the House of Assembly for screening yesterday.
The associates of the former vice president are Ibrahim Mijinyawa, a former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Umar Daware.
In the proposed cabinet, Governor Jibrilla also nominated three other women to join Atiku’s daughter in his cabinet.
Nyako’s loyalists are his former Director of Press and Public Affairs Ahmed Sajoh, Lilian Kayode and Mohammad Mustapha.
The women in the planned cabinet are Shanti Victoria Shashi, Kaletapwa Farauta, Fatima Atiku Abubakar and Kayode.
Already, the Assembly has commenced the screening of the nominees.
At yesterday’s session the Assembly screened 12 of the nominees and approved 11, including Atiku’s daughter, son of Lamido Adamawa, Alhaji Mohhamed Barkido Mustapha, who were confirmed in absentia.
Sajoh was however not confirmed by the House at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Hon. Kabiru Mijinyawa.
The lawmakers said the remaining eight nominees would be screened on Monday.
Those screened and confirmed by the lawmakers are Ibrahim Yayaji Mijinyawa, Yahya Faroug, Waziri Haruna Ahmadu, Mahmood Sali Yunusa, Hassan Umar Pakka, Julius Kasardama Kadala, Hamaji Jeberu Bulus, Suleiman Aliyu Sambo and Abubakar Idris Magaji.
