Late Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Pat Houston, says Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter was preparing for rehab in the days before her near-drowning in late January.
“I decided she was going to rehab because that’s where we had called to set up for her to go,” Pat told People. “She didn’t make it. She found out that I was coming for her, not to do an intervention, because I didn’t want to go through that with her. I just wanted her to come back and talk to me so we could figure out how this was going to take place because she needed to go.”
Pat says she chatted with Bobbi Kristina by SMS, who was then 21, a few days prior and that the budding actress promised her aunt they would talk.
“That was the last time I heard from her and that I believe was either on a Wednesday or Thursday,” Pat recalled.
Saturday morning, Bobbi Kristina was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub byher live-in boyfriend, Nick Gordon.
“I can’t even begin to tell you how I was feeling and what I was feeling and still feeling,” Pat continued about getting that devastating call. “I didn’t know, I didn’t know about the hard drugs, the cocaine. I didn’t know about the coke or the heroin but when I did find out, you know, I addressed it immediately. But, unfortunately, she never made it.”
In the weeks and months that followed the tragic discovery, Bobbi Kristina’s condition slowly deteriorated.
While she fought for her life, her family was at odds with Gordon and barred him from seeing her.
In June, Bobbi Kristina was turned over to hospice care where she would die a month later.
In early August, Gordon was slammed with a $10million lawsuit alleging he provided her with a“toxic cocktail” and stole $11,000 from her bank account.
