Abia North Youth Leaders Forum has urged politicians involved in the 2015 elections to exercise restraint and avoid comments that are capable of destroying the peace in the area.
The group in a communiqué said that the election in the area has produced candidates who should be allowed to concentrate and serve the people of the senatorial district.
It therefore urged politicians who lost elections to wait for the outcome of the tribunal rather than make comments that would cause breach of the peace.
The leader of the group, Comrade Chidiebere Uwagwu Kalu, said that the candidates, including the senator-elect, Hon Mao Ohuabunwa and members-elect of the House of Representatives and House of Assembly would need to work for the zone with minimum distraction irrespective of their party affiliation.
He urged candidates who did not win to patiently wait for the verdict of the tribunal constituted to adjudicate on such cases in the interest of the zone.
The communiqué further declared the election held in Abia North on the 28 March free, fair and credible.
Part of the communiqué reads: “The Forum has assessed Hon Chief Mao Ohuabunwa to be reliable, credible, tested and trusted to bring dividends of democracy to Abia North”.
