As Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the new Ooni of Ife, begins traditional rites, a call has been made to the people of Ife to give the monarch the necessary support needed for him to uplift the ancient town.
This call was made by Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Khamis Olatunde Badmus, in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by his special assistant on Media and Public Affairs, Alh. Dawood Ajetunmobi.
The statement described the rancour-free manner in which Oba Ogunwusi was unanimously selected as a sign that the Oba was acceptable to all.
“Though the vacuum left by the late Ooni, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, is a big one but with the support of the people for the new monarch, the vacuum will be less felt,” the statement read in part.
While congratulating the Oba on his emergence as new Ooni, Badmus prayed Almighty Allah to endow the new monarch with wisdom and long life so as to take the ancient town to an enviable height.
