Nigeria’s Super Eagles will on Thursday depart the shores of the country to Dares Salam, venue of this weekend’s Nations Cup qualifier match against Tanzania.
Already, some of the foreign-based invited players have reported to camp to join their local-based lads in full training session which begins today in Abuja.
Some of the early birds in Abuja as at press time, Monday were Leon Balogun, Anthony Ujah, Ahmed Musa and Obiora Nwankwo.
Speaking to Nigerian Pilot Sports, Media Officer of the team Toyin Ibitoye, confirmed that all invitees are expected to be in camp latest this evening after most of them featured for their club sides at the weekend.
He added “The team have no time than to begin to thinker strategies which will be applied to ensure maximum victory against Tanzania in Dares Salam.
“The coach expects every player to be in latest by Tuesday, and then finalize tactics ahead of crucial Nations cup qualifier this weekend.”
Only six Players who ply their trade in the Nigeria Professional Football League were picked after barely two weeks of training with Head Coach Sunday Oliseh.
They would fight for shirts with other 18 foreign-based professionals including Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun, Obiora Nwankwo and Anthony Ujah who confirmed via Ujah’s twitter handle @ujah21 that they were on their way to camp.
Nigeria defeated Chad 2-0 in the first leg 2017 AFCON qualifier match in Kaduna, two months ago.
