Bauchi State governor-elect, Barrister Mohammed Abubakar has warned against what he called haphazard sharing of plots as well as premature auctioning of government vehicles by the state government.
According to a statement signed by his personal assistant, Tahir Ibrahim Tahir, and made available to Nigerian Pilot, the governor-elect frowned at the manner at which the out-going Governor Isa Yuguda administration in handling public properties.
The statement also blamed the outgoing Yuguda administration for haphazard sharing of the Bauchi Airstrip’s land to individuals out of self-aggrandisement.
Abubakar expressed dismay on report reaching him as regard the conduct of government officials in handling public properties and finances in the last few days of the present administration, especially the abuse of financial disbursement.
He also expressed worry about last minute moves to short-change the citizens of Bauchi State or portray the in-coming administration in bad light, saying there was need for relevant government organs to be cautious in such dealings.
