The Bauchi state governor, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar has signed into law the reviewed budget of over N100billion, saying the recurrent expenditure amounted to over N62b while capital expenditure stands at over N40b.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Communications, Yakubu Ibn Muhammad and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.
The media aide stated that the governor had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of the state Head of Civil Service, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin to review the budget and make it compatible with the focus of the present APC administration in the state.
In another development, the governor has approved the appointments of Hajiya Rashida Yusuf and Hajiya Adama Ibrahim as press secretaries to the wives of the governor.
According to a statement by Ibn Muhammad, he said the appointments were based on their knowledge and experience as trained journalists as well as their commitments to their duty.
The statement further disclosed that Hajiya Rashida Yusuf is to serve as Press Secretary to Hajiya Hadiza Muhammad Abubakar, while Hajiya Adama Ibrahim is to serve under Hajiya Aisha Muhammad Abubakar.
Until their appointments; Hajiya Rashida Yusuf and Hajiya Adama Ibrahim were staff of the Bauchi State Television and Ministry of Information respectively.
