According to him, he explained that he had personally called the governor-elect on Sunday night to congratulate him on his victory at the polls, stressing that he did that in the spirit of sportsmanship as there must a winner and a loser in every contest.
“I have since accepted the results of the election as declared by INEC and even called the winner late Sunday to congratulate him. This was in the spirit of sportsmanship because in every game there must be a winner and a loser, though we lost out this time around, there is always another time insha Allah,” he added.
He however thanked all those who cast their votes for him in last elections, and expressed gratitude to the PDP for giving him the opportunity to fly its flag in the governorship election particularly, the incumbent governor, Isa Yuguda who supported him at the initial stage of the contest until the last moment.
