Chairman Bauchi State Recovery Committee of looted properties, Air Commodore Ahmed Tijjani Baba Gamawa, has assured that the state government will not hesitate to demolish any structure that was built illegally on government lands.
Already, he said the state government has set machinery in place to demolish illegal structures and warned those who defied the committee’s order and have gone ahead to build structures on government plots would have themselves to blame as government would have any sympathy for them.
“We are fully aware that some people despite our warning went ahead to construct residential building in industrial areas, they should be fully aware that state government will demolish such structures because we have already notified State Development Board to follow process of retaking government lands for the purpose meant for it” he said
He reiterated the determination of his committee to recover all looted public properties, saying that public funds was squandered, as if there was no government in the state, but warned that no any intimidation from any quarter will stop his committee from performing their work.
