Bauchi State National and State Assembly Election Tribunal has warned political parties and aggrieved supporters to desist from hindering the sitting of the tribunal.
The warning was handed by chairman of the tribunal, Justice Hajara Tani, during its inaugural sitting yesterday where she warned party contestants and aggrieved supporters not to do anything that would disrupt the sitting of the tribunal in the state.
She also warned counsels to desist from seeking for unnecessary adjournments during its sittings, saying such move would not be tolerated by the tribunal, reminding the counsels that the tribunal had only 180 days to dispose all cases, hence the need for all parties to take note of the period given to it.
“To the audience that will be attending the sitting of the tribunal, they should behave responsibility and never engage in any act that will disrupt the sitting of the tribunal,” she said
Justice Tani advised journalists covering sittings of the tribunal to be objective in their reporting and avoid misleading the general public or trying to create negative impression.
