The newly elected chairman of the Bayelsa State Founding Fathers Forum, Chief Benedict Guembe has said the current leadership would reposition the forum for efficient and effective performance.
He noted that his leadership would give the departed and living members due recognition in the scheme of things.
In his acceptance speech, he regretted that the disquieting nature of things in the state may not be unconnected with the continuing marginalization and sidelining of members who played significant roles in the creation of the state.
He recalled how founding fathers worked tirelessly in planning and mobilizing resources to send delegations to influential personalities in the country to actualize the state creation in spite of several obstacles.
He informed members of the forum that, his executive will work assiduously to check uncommunicative tendencies in the state in order to alleviate the plight of members who have been strategizing since 1992 till the creation of the state.
He commended the former chairman, Dr Amba Ambaiwei and his executive as well as the entire members of the forum for reposing so much confidence in his ability and capability promising that he will not disappoint them.
The chairman hinted that at the appropriate time, the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the forum which will be made up of eminent personalities shall be constituted in accordance with article 9 (d) of the constitution of the forum.
Other elected officials are, Chief Dugifa Paris as Vice Chairman, Isaiah Joe, Secretary, Dr. Opigo Helen, Asstidtant Secretary, Samson Jerry December as Financial Secretary and others.
Ex-officio members are, Pedro Igoni for Bayelsa West, Professor Francis Sikoki, Bayelsa Central and Frank Itelimo for Bayelsa East and Dr. Amba Ambaowei who was made the grand ex-officio.
